There is no debate about Jennifer Aniston being one of the most desirable actresses in the industry. If only one could get access to her beauty secrets, nutritionists, personal trainers, and her hack of keeping those nice straight hair curved along the borders of her face, life would be much simpler. Throughout her decades of career, she has earned quite a few admirers in the industry, with many actors longing for the chance to share the screen with her. And never in anyone’s wildest dreams would they have thought that filming with her, particularly love scenes could be “torture”. Yet, that is exactly how Jake Gyllenhaal felt.

Jake Gyllenhaal apparently suffered while acting alongside Jennifer Aniston in the 2002 film The Good Girl. And here is why. 

Why Jake Gyllenhaal did not enjoy filming love scenes with Jennifer Aniston?

Jake Gyllenhaal appeared on The Howard Stern Show in the year 2021 and recalled his experience of working with Jennifer Aniston. When the interviewer asked Gyllenhaal if it was “torture” to be intimate with the Friends Alum on camera, the actor answered in the positive. The reason Gyllenhaal found the experience torturous was because he had a huge crush on Aniston. So the experience “was also not (entirely) torture” and “it was like a mix of both”, as per Gyllenhaal. The Demolition actor has always been very vocal about his crush on Aniston. 

In a 2016 interview with the editorial director of People and Entertainment Weekly, Gyllenhaal shared his long-held infatuation with Aniston. He also accepted that “working with her was not easy” because of this crush. What drew him the most towards Aniston was her “personality” and who she is in real life. Apart from Gyllenhaal, there were a few other actors who did not like being intimate with Aniston. However, their reasons were very different (and stinky).

There was a phase in Jennifer Aniston’s life when she was addicted to caffeine-infused products and smoking, as per multiple reports. When she guest starred on the sitcom television series, 30 Rock, she was given the task of kissing Alec Baldwin. Sharing his experience about the kiss, Baldwin said it was “painful“, while on the red carpet of the Tisch on Stage gala in the year 2011. 

Baldwin was surprised by how other actors could manage to kiss Aniston on screen with that breath. Even Jason Bateman once shared a similar experience. As per Screenrant, the Up in the Air actor had to stop a kissing scene with Aniston once as he could not tolerate her strong cigarette and coffee odor any longer. Close friend and co-star, Adam Sandler has also joked that Jennifer Aniston’s on-screen kisses have not gotten any better while promoting Murder Mystery 2.
