The spin-off of The Boys, Gen V locked in a second season before the dust even settled on its first. It is safe to assume that Amazon knew well enough that the show was going to be a massive success among the audience. From the moment viewers stepped into the offbeat superhero universe in the first go-around, they have been hungry for more from the second installment. And now, with the latest update, it seems their wishes are about to be granted. 

Just recently, it has been reported that the filming schedule for Gen V's second installment is going to be a solid five-month stretch.

Last year, Deadline shared that Amazon had launched the writer’s room for Gen V season 2. This hinted at the start of an early development. However, last month, a tragedy struck with the sudden passing of cast member Chance Perdomo. Many thought this unfortunate incident would cause an indefinite delay of the second season. However, according to the production list of Hollywood North Buzz, the setback has only pushed back the schedule by a month. Originally set for April, the filming will now start on May 13 and extend until September 22.

Filming for Season 2 of the series starts on May 13 in Toronto, Ontario. Gen V got the green light for its second season on October 19, 2023, even before wrapping up its debut season. The early renewal was a testament to the show's success, shooting Season 1 straight to the top of Prime Video. As the cameras start rolling for the new season, fans are already brewing countless theories about what is in store for the series and its cast, especially with Perdomo's absence.

Chance Perdomo's absence left fans wondering how the makers will continue with his character, Andre Anderson, on the show. 

As one of the show's mainstays, Chance Perdomo's absence cast a shadow of doubt over the show's future. Fans have been discussing various possibilities about his character-should the character be canceled, undergo significant script changes, or recast the role? However, Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television are not rushing to make any decisions just yet. The cast and crew are taking time to mourn the loss of their beloved colleague before making any decisions.

Loads of theories surfaced during Gen V season 1, though they did not quite play out. Season 2's cast will feature many familiar faces from the first round itself. Even actors whose characters met their end might pop up in flashbacks. And in The Boys' universe, where Vought International operates in the shadows, there is always a chance of dead characters making a comeback through dubious means. But to learn more about the show, all one can do is sit tight and await its release.
