The latter even got a shoutout in Disney’s iconic coming-of-age movie The Princess Diaries, starring Anne Hathaway. The very movie that gave Meghan Markle a false conception of what royal training is going to look like. Disney and the royal family are both connected by their majestic princes, among other things. Therefore, when they intersect, it always results in intriguing confessions. This stands true, especially in the case of Prince Harry.

The Sussex royal has come to be identified by his memoir Spare and seems like the release of the book was not the end of bombshell confessions. As the ghostwriter behind his popular memoir, JR Moehringer, opens up, fans are enlightened by Prince Harry’s scholar-like knowledge of Moana and his favorite scene.

JR Moehringer wrote an essay for The New Yorker where he wrote in depth about his time working with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. He stayed at the Sussex’s guest house in Montecito. But there was a time when his family dropped in to visit and this resulted in a comradery between Prince Harry and his daughter over Disney’s Moana. According to Moehringer, the Duke told his daughter that his favorite scene was “when Heihei, the silly chicken, finds himself lost at the sea.”

While Prince Harry bonded with his daughter over Moana, Meghan Markle won his heart as she brought him sweets to cure his homesickness. Moehringer mostly described his time with the Sussexes as heartwarming except for the instances where he and the Duke would run into disagreements. And that too somehow tied down to his favorite scene from Moana.

One of the major reasons why Disney has remained on the top apart from its top-notch production is the emotional pull that each character has. Therefore, his favorite scene to emerge out of the $690.0 million movie featuring a fellow redhead who finds himself in unfamiliar territory is not a coincidence.

The Duke may have sensed some of him in the chicken as he stepped into the world of grilling headlines and cancel culture. The never-ending ocean, in his case, being the British paparazzi. Or he could have just liked the scene for its comedic brilliance.
