Fashionista Meghan Markle Gives TikTok Trend a Duchess Twist
Long before Meghan Markle was standing on the frontline of the Kensington Palace balcony she was sitting in front-row at fashion shows alongside Anna Wintour. And while both institutions have had a colossal impact on Meghan Markle, the Duchess has made an institution of her own by combining the lot. It was evident as she cherry-picked her dresses and styles and jewelry as a senior royal, and it is evident even more so as she makes a name for herself away from the royal family.
While the Duchess is mostly associated with custom couture and deluxe styles, it seems that she is moving over to a new era in a recently released video by Archetypes. Not only was this the first time in a while that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were seated side by side in front of the camera discussing not the royal family but the Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund, but it was also the first time Meghan Markle was decked in all affordable clothing and a much-adapted makeup look.
Perhaps it is due to her time as a lifestyle blogger or her front-row seats at fashion shows, but the Duchess of Sussex possesses a deep understanding of all things fashion. This is why, as she made her first appearance since May, she kept in mind Marilyn Monroe’s words, “Give a woman the right makeup and she will conquer the world,” and chose the TikTok famous ‘latte makeup’.

While the combination of edibles and makeup had not always flared well, Markle knows just how to make it work.
The trend has only recently broken the glass ceiling on TikTok, but Meghan Markle has always been a fan of such toned-down makeup looks.
Did Meghan Markle start the “latte makeup” trend?
The recently released video by Archetypes has been spreading like wildfire as fans once again are left with a lot to discuss. A winner among the lot being the bronzed makeup look on Markle’s face. While it looks stunning on her, the trend was not started by the Duchess of Sussex.

It was coined when a TikTok creator by the name of Rachel Rigler posted a ‘get-ready with me’ video where she discussed her makeup routine. In an era where blush’s importance comes next only to oxygen for those who love make-up, Rigler chose to do away with it. To make up for the lack of blush, she added extra layers of bronzer. This blew up in no time as fans commented ‘latte makeup’ and soon enough the whole of the Internet was hopping on to it. Now with Markle’s sign of approval, latte makeup is sure to take over the makeup world.
