The marriage of Prince Harry with then television actress Meghan Markle, gained attention that many deemed unprecedented for the royal family in this time and age. A real-life Prince from across the pond marrying an actress seemed like the stuff of movies. Although, what happened on the morning of the 19th of May in 2019 was far too ethereal to be captured by any movie, a picture of Meghan Markle might have just nailed the task.

Given the fact that it was a royal wedding and that too of Prince Harry, who is popular among celebrities and citizens alike, there were hoards of photographers. While the photos that emerged were undeniably beautiful, they failed to capture just how magical the moment was, especially for those who counted Meghan Markle as one of them. Except for a resurfaced picture that captured Meghan Markle walking down the aisle of St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle with her five meters long veil flowing behind.

The man behind the picture is Danny Lawson, a photographer for the Press Association. Lawson’s picture of the Duchess of Sussex’s memorable moment won him the News Media Association’s Royal Rota photography competition. Said competition consisted of numerous other marvelous photos of the couple beaming next to each other on their wedding day.

The photograph in question is also the title holder of the Rota Picture Agency Photo of the Year in 2018. Apart from the light gently following her across the chapel, it was Markle’s veil that added stars to the frame.

One of the most discussed topics was the bride’s dress. Designed by Givenchy designer Clare Waight Keller, it was a sight to behold. While the dress had its naysayers, everyone could only marvel at the intricacy of the veil. Also designed by Keller, the veil was embroidered with flowers that represented the countries of the Commonwealth and met the Queen Mary Bandeau Tiara on Meghan Markle’s head with grace. While it was always discussed, Danny Lawson’s picture from the eventful day allowed fans to marvel at its beauty.
