Avengers 5, which got its name switched from Kang Dynasty, is going to be the next big thing for Marvel following Deadpool & Wolverine. While it is no secret that many of the Avengers are about to reprise their roles in their next movie, there is no confirmation on who will be in the director’s chair. Nonetheless, an insider has hinted at who is definitely not going to be directing the movie.

Jeff Sneider, known for his industry insights, dropped some new rumors on The Hot Mic show. The insider shared that Marvel is seeking a director for Avengers 5 who has not dipped their toes into the franchise before. Immediately after the show, Sneider confirmed on X that "Shawn Levy ain’t directing that movie." He also mentioned that filming for Avengers 5 will begin early next year.

Last year, Deadline announced that Destin Daniel Cretton, the original director, left the franchise to focus on Shang-Chi 2. There have been numerous changes in the upcoming Avengers movie since then, whether it was about scriptwriters or schedules. And now this latest update from Sneider has got the entire MCU fandom throwing out ideas for potential Avengers 5 directors.

Fans were also pleased that Shawn Levy was not jumping onto this project right after Deadpool & Wolverine.

It was announced by Deadline, last month, that Shawn Levy is the front-runner to direct the next The Avengers installment. The report also shared that Levy got his hands on the latest script by Michael Waldron. However, as per sources, he has not quite made up his mind about taking on this project. Nevertheless, it appears, fans are not exactly rooting for Levy to helm The Avengers either. 

Fandom decided instead to toss around their ideas about who would be the best director for Avengers 5.

While Shawn Levy is not the darling of The Avengers fandom, there is talk of integrating its superheroes into his upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine project. The Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman film is expected to pave the way for expanding the Marvel universe and also set the stage for future MCU movies. Therefore, if Levy does end up directing Avengers 5, there is a good chance that Deadpool could also make an appearance in the next Avengers film.
