Hollywood has been an unexpected adventure so far for Henry Cavill. The British superstar catapulted into the upper echelons of fame, taking the role of Superman. Sadly, he had to say goodbye to this iconic character when James Gunn took over, rebooting the DC Universe in 2022. The news of his exit sent shockwaves through the internet and the lives of fans who were waiting for his return through Black Adam. In fact, they are still not over his version of the superhero despite the portrayer himself having moved on. 

A user on X, formerly Twitter, who goes by the name Big John rolled out a tweet. The post imagined Henry Cavill donning a Kryptonian battle-style armor of black shade with an ‘S’ embedded in the center. It was captioned what the actor would have looked like “wearing this in a Warworld movie after defeating Darkseid”.

Since they will not see him sporting that cape anymore, fans find solace in exploring these possibilities. But this one was indeed amazing, considering Darkseid has turned Superman evil on multiple occasions in the comics. So it gave a glimpse of what the character would have been like if he had taken his place after defeating him. Although people have been finding it hard to cope with this loss, the Man of Steel alum has clearly closed that chapter.

In the past months, the 40-year-old has remained occupied with his new projects. In fact, the actor will make an astounding comeback with his spy flick Argylle in 2024. But all these new achievements do not seem to cheer up fans who continue to debate over his Superman look.

Fans debate over Henry Cavill’s battle armor as Superman 

After seeing this post, many fans of Henry Cavill took to the comment section to share their opinion. Some people found this armor amazing and loved this idea. However, others did not like him because they believed Superman did not need these suits to save himself. According to them, he has immense power, and prefers him in his classic blue suit and iconic red cape.

DC fans were divided over the thought of watching Superman in armor considering he has faced death and still returned. So many think these suits only reduce his charm and potential.

While this is just a way for fans to cope with the sadness of Caill leaving, what the new and younger Superman would bring viewers is yet to be witnessed. James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy starring David Corenswet has become one of the most anticipated projects and will dive deeper into the early life of this superhero.
