The past few months have been a soap opera for Tinseltown’s power couple, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, but now the drama has hit a peak week after they officially called it quits. The media had a field day, and fans who shipped Bennifer until the bitter end were hit with all the feels. But as the days go by, the sparkle is starting to fade, and fans have transitioned from heartbreak to side-eye. Now, instead of focusing on Affleck, all eyes are on J. Lo after a jaw-dropping moment with Matt Damon that had fans and paparazzi rolling their eyes like never before.

Star power can be a real showstopper, but when the timing is off, it can feel more like walking on thorns. While Ben Affleck was initially pegged as the main culprit behind the split, Jennifer Lopez is now getting her share of the heat. Lopez, caught in the multiverse of rumor mills this year, was recently spotted at the Unstoppable afterparty during the Toronto International Film Festival. According to a PEOPLE source, Lopez and Matt Damon were clasping hands while in a “deep conversation,” chatting it up for a solid 20 minutes.

After reportedly posing for group pics at the premiere on September 6, an insider spilled the beans on Lopez and Matt Damon hanging out at the Unstoppable afterparty, hosted at the swanky EPOCH Bar & Kitchen Terrace at The Ritz-Carlton. Lopez was chilling outside with his wife, Luciana Damon, and Don Cheadle when Damon joined the group. While it seemed like a casual catch-up with friends, fans did not miss a beat to stir the pot.

Fans in Disbelief as Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Inch Closer to Yet Another Breakup

Especially since Affleck, who also serves as a producer for the movie, was noticeably absent from both the premiere and the afterparty, and this was J. Lo’s first public appearance after filing for divorce, the spotlight she drew was anything but flattering.

Fans call out Jennifer Lopez, citing split with Ben Affleck after the TIFF visuals with Matt Damon

The internet has been a rollercoaster since spring when rumors about Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's breakup first hit the scene. Being Hollywood’s quintessential 'It' couple meant there was no escaping the public eye and although at first, reports claimed their clashing personalities led to the split, fans quickly chose Affleck as the fan-favorite scapegoat, citing his mood swings as the reason. However, after word got out about Lopez and Matt Damon’s intriguing afterparty chat, fans wasted no time throwing her under the bus too.

Even though early reports suggested Lopez was trying to navigate the rocky relationship with Affleck, many fans chose to focus on the latest tabloid fodder.

Adding to the drama, with Damon being Affleck’s bestie, some fans are spinning wild theories that Lopez might be seeking cinematic revenge. While this theory is almost as believable as a simple hangout or a calculated rom-com plotline for the future, it remains to be seen how long fans hold their breath on this one since Tinseltown is anything but devoid of drama, whether dazzling or disastrous.
