Fans’ Disappointment Increases As Superman’s Official Account Posts a Henry Cavill Clip, Months After Kicking Him Out of DCU
Henry Cavill may have retired from being Superman, but his role is still remembered fondly. Fans are always protective not just of him, but of the director that gave him the platform-Zack Snyder. While DC tries to give itself a makeover by bringing in new makers and actors, a loyal fan base remains skeptical. That is likely due to the success Man of Steel saw, and the way its sequel got canceled.
A Twitter profile dedicated to Superman posted a clip from Joss Wheadon’s Justice League released in 2007. “The Flash may be the Fastest Man Alive, but he is not Superman“, said the caption to show off the red-caped hero’s abilities in comparison to the Flash. A link was provided which opened up to the two-hour-long flick. However, fans in the comments were not very pleased with this choice.

The cut is often compared to Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which is at least four hours long. But the film was released in 2021 after many requests from fans through hashtags and campaigns by hardcore Superman and Snyder loyalists. Plus the official Superman page still using Cavill’s footage does not sit well with many, as fans still mourn the actor’s departure.
Fans are surprised by the post while being disappointed. Inevitably, there is a comparison between the two movies which erupted in the comments.
Twitterati reacts to a Superman post involving Henry Cavill post his exit
Unless James Gunn creates magic, people will continue to complain about Henry Cavill’s departure from Superman. Over the decades, different actors have played the role of Superman and different directors added their touch in making movies. But Cavill’s Man of Steel remains the ultimate example of the superhero for many.
Seeing the post reminded fans why they still want the actor to return in the red cape. Some were outright disappointed to see Superman in Wheadon’s version.
Many even criticized the way Superman looks in Wheadon’s version of the movie. One even called it the ‘deformed’ version of the savior.
There are those wondering why the account is still using Cavill when DC removed him. Many still want him back, even to work with Snyder while Gunn makes his own version.
