Fans Crown Henry Cavill as the Top Choice as Conqueror Aegon Targaryen, in the New ‘Game of Thrones’ Prequel Series
The Witcher world might have let slip Henry Cavill as the poster face for the Continent’s fantasy land, but fans are not letting Cavill’s shine from the regal armor subside this soon. As a result, enthusiasts have been eying for Cavill to bring back his swordplay secrets in the upcoming prequel for Game of Thrones in the skin of Aegon Targaryen. Only recently, the reports of HBO developing a spin-off series based on Aegon’s conquest came to light, creating a frenzy amongst fans of Cavill.
Since then, they have been making space on socials with AI images imagining Cavill in the avatar, with just one popular demand- “Cast Henry Cavill as Aegon asap”. This trend of urge came shortly after The Hollywood Reporter shared the news of HBO’s partnership with Mattson Tomlin for the Aegon’s Conquest. The take-up is directly supposed to take fans on a time-machine trip before House of the Dragon to tell the story of the bloody conquest of Westeros by the Targaryen.

The story focuses on its royal invader, Aegon Targaryen, who through his brutal conquest unified and conquered six out of seven kingdoms in only two years. Aegon’s conquest as a concept was initiated early in the previous year, and Variety had reported it. Aegon’s mythic regality of swordsmanship and Henry Cavill’s seasoned display of swordplay at once truly make a striking resemblance.
Fans, taking quick note of the same, were even quicker in their resolute demand, which is a Henry Cavill reprisal in the fantasy world.
Fans urge Henry Cavill’s casting as Aegon Targaryen
It seems like fans have a specific genre choice when it comes to Henry Cavill and it is in the world of fantasy. Although his established fantasy realm is right now ensuring a smooth transition from Cavill to Liam Hemsworth, his supporters are far from giving up a chance to see Cavill in the genre. As a result, the urges and requests do not seem to subside as of now.
Even though fans had their concerns in mind, like Cavill’s opinion of avoiding intimate scenes on-screen, the demand was genuine at its best. However, some fans were stringently against it.

Either way, given that the AI imagination did just right in constructing Aegon’s image with Cavill’s face, it became rather difficult to move on from the thought. While of course, this does not mean that Cavill will be right away cast following the massive fan requests, one can at least hope for the best. After all, from what the thread notes, it is this hope that is keeping the traffic still going, and who knows? It may even grab the attention of the makers.
