James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 is soaring high, but the casting call for Superman has ascended all the spheres now! Anticipation is high and the process to find the new Clark Kent has become more intense than ever. Contenders like David Corenswet have occupied the headlines as the potential superhero, and fans have since been at sixes and sevens, eagerly waiting to know who is about to take the place of their favorite, Henry Cavill.

While the rejuvenating DC Universe has kept everything pretty much hush hushed for Gunn and Peter Safran’s debut movie, it seems like they are now ready to lay their final cards. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Pearl star has apparently advanced to the screen test stage, along with two others whose identities are yet unknown. And if everything went well, Corenswet might as well be the next Clark Kent.

Wwhile fans previously cast Euphoria’s Jacob Heraldi as the new Man of Steel, he perhaps hasn’t tuned in. Deadline’s senior reporter, Justin Kroll, also scooped in that the name of The Menu’s Nicholas Hoult as the potential Clark Kent. However, amidst so many names emerging, the one who remains constant is Zack Snyder’s Superman, AKA Henry Cavill.

With Corenswet’s name floating out there as the lead, fans once again take the liberty to compare him with the veteran hero.

When one of the “casual fans” posted a picture of the two placing them side by side, a plethora of opinions piled up in the comments of their Twitter handle. Notably, for some it appears to be two widely different Superman designs, whereas, for others; they look no less than siblings.

However, others say that they don’t look similar as such, but have that “Superman look” in these pictures.

Meanwhile, for some, the Pearl actor is hotter than the ex-Superman, whereas for others it is just the opposite.

Another fan acknowledges that they have seen his work in a few projects and they think that he has got the potential and hence is a perfect choice to replace the Mission Impossible: Fallout actor.
