Henry Cavill bid goodbye as the Last Son of Krypton and it was met with ushering disappointment. His resonation to the character remained impeccable and a hearty vision for many. As the face of the iconic DC hero, he commenced with Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel back in 2013 followed by Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and then on and forward. Ever since the first instance of him donning the Superman costume, a bridge of emotional wayward had taken his fans. Although there was uncertainty looming over the actor’s revival, the worst had not been thought of.

For his fans, Superman truly became synonymous with Henry Cavill. Therefore, an air of resentment emerged from the actor and his fanbase when James Gunn decided to omit him. Now that the Justice League filmmaker is on his way to take his new Superman to Atlanta, fans cannot help but wax poetic about Henry Cavill’s emotionally packed portrayal.

Henry Cavill starred in Enola Holmes and the Netflix series The Witcher amidst these confusing hours. Much celebrated in both the shows, there were however mounting rumors in regards to his cut-off. Having given the biggest box office hit of his career which grossed $873M, it was hard for fans to not envision him donning the Superman cape anymore.

As Cavill is now onto starring the $100,000,000+ budgeted Highlander Reboot,  and it is set to honor the original franchise, fans are in a throwback mood. Snippets from Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, are now running in the array of the Internet, making fans split and clash like never before.

Fans are once again staging a Henry Cavill vs. James Gunn debate

Fans on X, formerly Twitter, of Henry Cavill are still holding onto his emotional connection with Superman as leverage. Recently, a snippet from Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, began circulating on the internet. Post that, fans have been caught up in debates about what ranks superior: the charisma of the actor or the enthralling vision of James Gunn.

The caption of the post read, “Anyway here’s Henry Cavill showing more heart and genuine emotion than any Gunn movie has ever given us.”. On one hand, fans applauded the actor. On the other hand, fans protested how the said person had never watched another Gunn movie, to begin with. Amidst all of this plenty of fans took to criticizing what they felt was Henry Cavill’s limited acting range.

With heated-up backfires running on sleeves, there’s no denying the numbers it made at the box office. However, it might be just the time to get over with their slate of debates. Since, not only has the actor progressed to give us some exhilarating new projects, but the director has also advanced with his career.
