Zack Snyder, whose massive fan-following once brought Warner Bros. to its knees, is back for his fans. At one time, studio interference forced the director to abandon his vision of the DCEU with Justice League, which was later turned and released as a botched Frankenstein movie of sorts by the studio. However, his army of fans rallied behind him and forced WB to release the director’s original vision with Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Years later, Snyder is giving fans a DC reminiscence again in his latest directorial debut with Rebel Moon.

Snyder’s direction has some trademark themes involved. From excellent photographic shots to slow-motion cuts and extended, gritty fight scenes, fans hail his style. In his vision of the Justice League which came out in 2021, the director built upon a sequence that unfortunately he never got to complete known simply as the ‘Knightmare’ sequence. Interestingly, fans have noticed that his latest teaser for Rebel Moon features a shot that is eerily similar and gives off the same energy as the Knightmare scene.

Ironically, Snyder’s upcoming movie with Netflix, Rebel Moon, is his own snub to Lucasfilm’s and now Disney’s Star Wars franchise. Commanding a massive fan base for his signature style and strengthened by his wife and producer, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, is finally here with Rebel Moon. Thus, Snyder fans have never been more excited.

Bringing all of his big guns out, the director is putting all of his creativity into the Netflix production. Thus, it is reasonable that it will also give off the “vibes” of the Knightmare sequence, as the director would be more than determined to pay homage to it.

The plot of Rebel Moon revolves around the same themes as in Disney’s mega-franchise, Star Wars. However, it also borrows certain elements from Zendaya’s Dune, as well as Snyder’s own creative genius. Snyder had earlier pitched Rebel Moon, which explores the very themes of galactic wars as Star Wars. However, Lucasfilm rejected it. Add to it his incomplete wish of bringing the Knightmare sequence to life, and fans have a visual delight. Rebel Moon is landing on Netflix on December 22, 2023.
