Fan Sparks Debate Imagining Henry Cavill As This Exciting Villain from 'X-Men '97', Ahead of Mutant Takeover of MCU

Mutants are about to thrust themselves into the Marvel Cinematic Universe's narrative. And the only star, other than Taylor Swift, who is most in demand to capitalize on this opportunity and make a ground-shattering Marvel debut is Henry Cavill. With his extensive resume of playing Superman, it is not hard to see why fans want the star to enter the rival camp now that he is no longer tied to DC.

Recently, X-Men ‘97, the eye-popping animated action series, has become the talk of the town. Following the success of its first installment, fans are now speculating about the surprises Marvel could bring further. This led them to fan-cast Henry Cavill as arguably the best X-Men ‘97 villain, Mr. Sinister. The Witcher actor would undoubtedly make a magnificent Mister Sinister considering his intimidating yet witty persona, a glimpse of which was seen in Mission: Impossible - Fallout.

Cavill possesses the physicality required to breathe life into this iconic villain from X-Men, as in the comics, the character has always been described as a mutant who is a tall, pale man with white hair and dark clothing. But most importantly, the British star has the range needed to portray Sinister's multifaceted personality and manipulative tendencies on screen.

Not every X-Men aficionado, however, is on board with the idea of casting Henry Cavill as Mr. Sinister, leading to a spirited exchange of opinions on social media.

Fans are divided on Henry Cavill playing Mr. Sinister

Before Henry Cavill was considered by fans for Mr. Sinister, he was a popular choice for many other iconic characters in the universe. This included Dr. Doom, Cyclops, and even Wolverine, the latter of which fans thought was a poor fit for Cavill due to his height. Similarly, some fans also believe that the 41-year-old is not the right fit for Mr. Sinister, as they doubt he has the necessary acting abilities to portray the complex character.

Meanwhile, many fans liked the idea and approved Henry Cavill as the X-Men villain.
