Failing to Grab an Emmy Nod, Duchess Meghan Markle Had Applied to Be the “Judge” of the Television Academy, Claims Royal Expert
The popularity rates of the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reached humongous proportions. Adding to the hype around the self-exiled couple are their numerous accolades and a few unfortunate snubs for some of the most influential projects to exist. Their staggering 100 million dollar deal with the American streamer resulted in a groundbreaking tell-all docuseries, Harry & Meghan. Posing as a direct threat to the already degrading reputation of the House of Windsor, the series did not do much other than feed the biggest royal frenzies.
The Emmy Awards too did not consider it worthy of a nomination. However, Duchess Meghan Markle had other plans for the Academy Awards. The series failed to secure a nomination among the esteemed list for 2023. But that was not the single dejection that Marke faced.

Speaking to British national television, GBNews, prominent veteran in royal affairs, Angela Levin alleged that the Duchess wished to be the voter for the nominees and winners of the prestigious Awards. “The interesting thing is that Meghan applied to be a judge in the Emmys,” she affirmed. Nonetheless, she considers the step nothing more than a tomfoolery as “the only thing she would vote for would be her own documentary.” Levin added.
For all we know, the latest Emmy list drew curtains for the Sussexes. And that, apparently, was a joint decision by the Academy.
Why did the Television Academy Awards miss out on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry?
The superficial reason, as has been circulating since the day of the Spotify fallout, was framed as the “lack of content.” While many called the Duchess talentless, the Spotify podcast executive Bill Simmons claimed, working with the pair was an embarrassment. In the case of the Emmys, as per the royal expert, the snub resulted, since no one in the team was in favor of the same.

“They’ve really snubbed her because not one person on the board actually mentioned that,” alleged Angela Levin on the British broadcaster. Moreover, the team selecting content for the Emmys nominations was not a frazzled insignificant team. “It’s quite a large board,” said Levin before concluding.
