Ex ‘Friends’ Designer Narrates Her Story of the Reunion With Jennifer Aniston on ‘The Morning Show’
There are countless reasons as to why fans keep coming back to Friends, even after almost two decades since its conclusion. While the cast, including Jennifer Aniston, is the face of the show in our memories, behind the curtain, there was a dedicated crew of unsung heroes, who made the show what it is. Apart from being the best sitcom of all time, Friends has a significant influence on the fashion industry as well.
Credit for this goes to a very talented fashion designer, who crafted some of the most iconic ensembles. The designer recently revealed her experience dressing up Aniston one more time in The Morning Show after thirty years.

The sartorial mind behind Friends, Debra McGuire, recently sat down for an interview with WMA magazine where she talked about her experience working with Aniston in The Morning Show. The designer shared how it felt like a small family reunion as she worked with her every day for 10 years on the sets of Friends. However, this time the circumstances were different, as Alex Levy’s character is the polar opposite of Rachel Green.
However, McGuire also revealed that there were a few things that remained the same with Aniston’s character. This includes Alex’s bias toward luxury, the color palette, and Aniston’s own personal touch of fashion. During a September interview with Harpers Bazaar, McGuire revealed how they raided Aniston’s closet for The Morning Show. In the same interview, McGuire also spilled the beans on her proudest fashion moments from the show.

Ahead of the release of The Morning Show’s third season, Debra McGuire opened up about all the designers who shared their sartorial artistry with the show. This list included Khaitet, Alexander McQueen, Saint Laurent, and Valentino. However, Valentino’s gown ended up becoming the favorite of the costume designer on the show. McGuire was so taken by the gown that she had to convince the designer to craft a new one, as it was no longer in stock.
Though Aniston did not really like the Valentino gown, her costume designer became extremely happy after Valentino re-made the dress. Given the way McGuire made Rachel Green a fashion icon, it is safe to trust the designer when it comes to outfits. While fans might not see her dressing Aniston as a 20-something runaway bride again, McGuire’s magic will forever keep fans under the spell of Friends.
