A revolutionary step often invariably triggers a split in public sentiment, with some rallying behind it and others taking an opposing stance. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s decision to step down from their royal duties was one such step that cleaved the world into two camps. Following the contentious Megxit, both the Sussexes dropped numerous bombshells that only continued to pile on more trouble for them. And recently, they became an alleged target of criticism within an animated sitcom, Family Guy. 

The Seth MacFarlane show created a parody of the Sussexes, poking fun at their sources of income. Amidst the commotion, an ex-friend of Meghan Markle recommended the intervention of King Charles’ to put an end to the endless attention around the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

King Charles can save Meghan Markle and Prince Harry from being a “laughing stock”

TV presenter Lizzie Cundy, during her interview with The Mirror, talked about the recent spoof of the Sussexes that turned them into objects of ridicule. She believed that if Markle released her upcoming memoir, she would inadvertently make herself and her husband a “laughing stock”. As per Cundy, King Charles should now intervene and stop Markle from penning her memoir, which is the only route to prevent any further mockery. 

Cundy feels that the Sussexes should stop their “moaning and whinging” and that they have built a career “out of complaining”. This she said has caused their celebrity friends to move away from them. Cundy, who struck a friendship with Markle in the year 2013, no longer boasts a friendship with her. Meghan Markle allegedly distanced herself from Cundy, following her marriage to Prince Harry. However, Cundy was not the only friend who felt this way. 

One of Prince Harry’s oldest school friends also had a similar experience with the Sussexes, post their marriage. 

Did the Sussexes distance themselves from their old friends? 

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot in the year 2018. While it was the happiest chapter in their fairy tale love story, it was not a good day for everyone. One of Prince Harry’s old friends, Tom Inskip, was deeply hurt at failing to receive an invitation to their evening bash, following the church ceremony. “Meghan has changed Harry too much”, said Inskip the next morning of Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding. 

Some of the friends even believed that the guest list for the evening party served as a reflection of their chosen circle as a royal couple. However, later reports said that King Charles was the one who allegedly made alterations to the guest list. Recently, royal sources and close friends also revealed that Prince Harry has been longing for his old life and friends. However, after the bombshell revelations in his autobiography, the chances for any reconciliation seem to be slim.
