Meghan Markle and Prince Harry established their residence in Montecito, California, after stepping down from their royal duties. The Sussexes own an ultra-luxurious $14 million mansion in the unincorporated town, where they have been raising Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet together. They bought the house in the year 2020 after residing for a few months at Tyler Perry’s home. However, it seems like their hunt for a perfect home is still ongoing. 

Three years after settling into their lavish Montecito mansion, the couple has now set their sights on another spectacular estate in Southern California.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry looking for a home in Malibu 

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry recently checked out a 6-acre estate in Malibu, Los Angeles, where they are planning to build their residence. A close source told TMZ, the Sussexes spent their holiday weekend touring a $8 million plot of land in the beach city. The estate they checked out from already had a huge guardhouse and pool. Additionally, a groundwork for the foundation of a 10,000-square-foot main residence has been laid on the plot. 

The property is located in a secluded area and the Sussexes have already approved the house plans. In fact, the construction crew is also in place waiting for a green signal from the Sussexes. If in case Markle and Prince Harry decide to seal the deal, the cost of construction itself would cost them another $10 million. That should not be a subject of concern for the Sussexes, as they have a lineup of exciting projects that may as well fund the ambitious new housing plan. 

While this may be the biggest plan on their list, it is definitely not the only one. Meghan Markle, in a recent interview, teased her Hollywood comeback with her husband, Prince Harry. 

The Sussexes’ Hollywood comeback

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been absent from Hollywood since Harry & Meghan and Heart of Invictus. This led to many speculating that the Sussexes have lost their hold in Tinsel Town and will soon be outshined by the Prince and Princess of Wales. Setting the record straight, Markle revealed during her surprise appearance at Variety’s Power of Women event that she and Prince Harry have “many exciting things on the slate”. 

Given that Markle has joined hands with the Hollywood talent agency, William Morris Entertainment, this comeback by the Sussexes seems more and more likely. The Duchess also shared that she can not wait to announce the “exciting” projects, that she is “proud” of creating. The hope is that she feels the same way about her new home for which the Sussexes are even reportedly planning to sell their Montecito home.
