The highly acclaimed high-school series, Euphoria starring Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney has encountered several roadblocks ahead of season 3. However, Sam Levinson appears to be gearing up in full-throttle to spice up the upcoming season after the recent updates of unprecedented delays in filming. The latest reports indicate that the show might be edging towards a temporal shift despite being conceived in the dark settings of high-school drama. However, that is not all for the euphoric updates of the day, as the reports also hint at an all-crew retreat for the cast of the series.

From Zendaya to Sweeney, HBO’s dramatic teens are making a comeback this season and there is no way to downplay the anticipation.

In a recent conversation with Variety, Casey Bloys discussed the upcoming season 3 of Euphoria and addressed the reasons behind its delayed production. When asked about the returning cast for the third season, Bloys confirmed that it will include the “same core cast”, which consists of Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, and Hunter Schafer. Despite suggestions for a different lineup, Bloys expressed no interest in deviating from the established cast.

Bloys elaborated that Sam Levinson, the show's creator and writer, plans to shift the focus of season 3 beyond the high school setting where it originally began to a futuristic backdrop. While the high school backdrop made sense initially, it appears that Levinson recognizes that Zendaya, Sweeney, Schafer, and Elordi are not getting any younger, despite widespread assumptions that Kendrick Lamar’s influence led to this temporal shift.

In a recent interview with Deadline, Eric Dane discussed the timeline for Euphoria's potential production start. According to Dane, HBO is aiming to begin production on the third season of Euphoria later this year, with a planned debut in 2025. However, scheduling filming around cast members who have committed to new projects, including Dane himself, poses a logistical challenge.

Amid the production delay of Euphoria season 3, HBO allowed the cast to pursue other acting opportunities starting in March. While fans may be concerned that these conditions could lead to a longer delay for season 3, it is not insurmountable. The resolution depends on how HBO manages these scheduling conflicts, which are not the only issue facing Euphoria's third season. There is also a responsibility to ensure that the stars can manage their time commitments both within and outside of Euphoria.
