“Enjoying every minute”- With Modern Habits and Traditional Cuisines, Here’s How Meghan Markle and Kids Celebrated Thanksgiving Now and Over the Years
A lot has changed for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex over the years. From changing addresses to shifting roles, there have been a lot of developments in the lives of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. With all these changes, there was no harm in tweaking one more thing: their Thanksgiving plans. Though earlier they celebrated the festivity with the royal family, that tradition ended with their infamous departure from the family in 2020.
Markle, therefore, chose to celebrate her Thanksgiving a little differently, though the cuisine remained the same.

Meghan Markel attended Variety’s Power of Women event last week. In the event, she was asked about her Thanksgiving plans in Montecito, California. Markle replied to the question asserting that she and her husband have been trying to introduce new traditions to the family as their children are growing up. As reported by io Donna publication, the Duchess looks forward to “enjoying every minute with her children,” Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Meghan Markle celebrated Thanksgiving at her home in Montecito, much like every year following Megxit. She likes to cook the Thanksgiving meal by herself. This meal usually comprises baked turkey with a side of mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and the traditional pecan pie. Though the Sussexes did not receive an invitation to the royal family gathering, they celebrated the holiday with their children in a wholesome way.
They also kicked off the Holiday session by joining the Vancouver Canucks.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle joined the first ceremonial puck drop of an ice hockey match between Vancouver Canucks and San Jose on Monday. Prince Harry was the one who dropped the ceremonial puck, twenty-one years after the late Queen Elizabeth. Both Markle and Prince Harry enjoyed the sport from their boxes ahead of their Christmas celebration.
The Sussexes will also be conducting their first-ever Invictus winter sports program in Canada in the year 2025. The event would begin on the 8th of February and will last till the 16th. The event will have a specially curated list of sports that would be suitable for the winter as well as for injured veterans. That said, it seems like the Sussexes do not need to participate in the royal celebrations and have figured out their own way of enjoying the festivities.
