Jason Bateman, along with his co-hosts Sean Hayes and Will Arnett, dropped a new episode of SmartLess on Monday. For this session, the trio invited Matthew McConaughey for a chit-chat. But before beginning their conversation, the Ozark star recalled the last time when they sat down with the Oscar winner on a video meeting two years back. Arnett played the recording where he was fussing over the technical issues that stopped him from connecting to others.

After struggling for over half an hour, the Hancock star gave up and asked his friends to just cancel the shooting. “Let’s just reschedule this thing. I’m in a total f—ing tailspin,” said the Emmy winner. But this was not the worthwhile part because they were not the only people who joined on call who heard him spiraling into madness.

McConaughey was there the whole time and burst into laughter, which infuriated Bateman more because he had no idea who was joining them. In fact, he did not just stop there and reenacted everything he said while experiencing the horrors of technical issues.

After witnessing this unexpected side of Jason Bateman, the Interstellar star broke his silence and revealed himself. The actor offered to explain once more what the host said in the past half hour. “We’ve gotta reboot here. His iPad got cloned, and then it got wiped right before the dog peed on it, so I gotta reboot one more time,” joked the 53-year-old. He continued to poke fun at how his devices acted up just when he had an important interview.

Coming back to the present, Bateman called that moment “mortifying” and how the day did not turn out well for him. He also made clear that he was more irritated because he thought Hayes or Arnett were laughing at him. Fortunately, this time they had no technical difficulties and recorded an episode of McConaughey peacefully.
