Emily Blunt Shares ‘Oppenheimer’ Co-Star Cillian Murphy’s Adorable Reaction to Her 'Saturday Night Live' Skit
Last year, riding on the tropical waves of summer jitters came the intense cinematic war of Barbenheimer. However, with the conclusion of the Oscars this year, the longstanding debate was finally put to rest as a new chapter unfolded with two of the stars from each of the movies joining forces for the upcoming The Fall Guy. Nevertheless, Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling ensured a proper send-off to the big screen brawl with a tribute to Barbenheimer during their skit at Saturday Night Live. While the performance mesmerized numerous viewers, it held a particularly enchanting sway over Blunt's co-star, Cillian Murphy.
Blunt went as far as unveiling Murphy's favored segment from the skit, which resonated both with him and another person close to the actress.

Amidst Ryan Gosling's latest Saturday Night Live monologue, Emily Blunt made a spontaneous entrance, stunning the audience. Setting aside their Barbenheimer rivalry, the duo delivered a cheeky tribute to their characters, accompanied by their rendition of Taylor Swift's 'All Too Well.' The version potentially earned both a spot in Swift’s Eras Tour and Cillian Murphy’s nod of approval. Murphy subsequently also reached out to Blunt personally, expressing how he “loved” the performance, a detail she disclosed in a recent interview with LOS40.
The actress proceeded to unveil both her co-actor and her daughter's favorite segments of the skit. Blunt confessed that she informed Murphy about her daughter's preferred moment in the performance, which coincidentally aligns with Murphy's favorite, where she says “I miss Cillian Murphy.” Apparently, on discovering Blunt’s daughter’s favorite part, Murphy too could not resist echoing the same, stating, “Not gonna lie, it’s my favorite too”.
Cillian Murphy’s affectionate stance for Emily Blunt really stole the show while it took minutes to highlight the beautiful bond the duo crafted. Although Murphy might have been the initiator this time, Blunt’s take on her co-actor also illustrates nothing but respect.

During a March interview with CBS 60 Minutes, Emily Blunt was prompted to comment on Cillian Murphy's approach to his craft and its relationship to his status as a public figure. Blunt clarified that while Murphy is her "favorite" actor to collaborate with, she ranks him as the worst celebrity she has encountered. According to the actress, Murphy remains dedicated to his art, but the realm of stardom is not his natural habitat, leading to a noticeable tension between the two spheres.
Blunt admitted she believed it might be "painful" for Murphy to acknowledge his worthiness. However, when asked why she considers him her favorite actor, she offered glowing praise for her co-star. Blunt emphasized that there is likely no one quite like him, capable of doing what he does. Furthermore, she noted his ability to draw people in with his charisma and "life force," which infuses energy into any room where he works. Curiously, it now seems that Murphy holds comparable feelings, as indicated in his response to Blunt's Saturday Night Live performance.
