“embarassed” Prince Harry Turns Red as Invictus Games Crowd Sings for Him With Meghan Markle
Prince Harry has had a whirlwind year of change and growth, embracing new opportunities and challenges with grace. Be it releasing his memoir and taking full accountability for his words or releasing two successful Netflix docuseries’, the Duke has broken out of his shell in his third year outside of the royal family. And to make sure that he knows how much of an inspiration he is, Meghan Markle showered him with a lot of love. But she was not the only one.
The Duke of Sussex, along with Meghan Markle, has been one of the greatest cheerleaders of the Invictus Games participants. However, as he sat in the crowd on his special day, they decided to return the favor.

On the 15th of September, Prince Harry marked the beginning of another year of his life by doing what he loves to do the most: inspire others and cheer for them as they move towards their win. And while his own family in the United Kingdom may have chosen to ignore the fact, the thousands gathered at Düsseldorf did not, as they sang Happy Birthday at the top of their lungs along with Meghan Markle, to Prince Harry.
The Duke, who was unaware of any such celebration being a part of the schedule, was shocked and, as per body behavior Judy James’ statement to The Mirror, the Prince even appeared “embarrassed” in a bashful sort of way. Given how the couple usually opts for quiet birthday celebrations, it was natural for the Duke to turn progressively redder as the crowd continued his birthday celebration.
It is ironic how despite the royal family opting for silence at such a momentous event, Prince Harry has had perhaps his grandest birthday celebration in the public eye. Not only did the audience at the stadium cheer for him, but it seemed like all of Düsseldorf had something special for him.
Düsseldorf celebrates the Duke of Sussex’s birthday in grand style
Since their commencement in 2014 through Prince Harry’s determination, the Invictus Games have been held at some of the biggest stadiums around the world. They have been held in the USA, Canada, Australia, and, the Netherlands throughout the years. However, it seems like Prince Harry will be holding Düsseldorf very close to his heart for a long time. And if the stadium belting out a grand Happy Birthday was not enough then the mayor himself ensured it by sending the Prince a cake.

The mayor of Düsseldorf sent Prince Harry an Invictus Games-themed cake. Not only did the cake have berries on top but was in itself the cherry on top of all the celebration that the city had prepared for him. Post turning red in embarrassment as the crowd sang for him, the Duke and Duchess both had a spring in their step as they walked out hand in hand out of the stadium.
