Back when Netflix first announced One Piece, everyone was skeptical about the live-action project. Neither had the streamer done any wonders in the live-action field nor was One Piece a walk in the park. However, all the doubts went away on August 31st. The Eiichiro Oda manga did not fail to amaze in a brand new format. Since its premiere, the series has been on a roll, breaking records and setting new benchmarks for Netflix. While the streamer deserves all praises, the series would have not seen the light of the day without Eiichiro Oda.

And a while ago, the creator finally reacted to the series’s breathtaking success.

One Piece managed to deliver one of the finest live-action series on Netflix. And one of the key reasons behind the show’s skyrocketing success was the heavy involvement of Eiichiro Oda. Owing to its breathtaking success, the streamer has already green-lit a sequel for the same. As Netflix gears up for another exciting season, Eiichiro Oda revealed that he was immensely happy after seeing the audience’s incredible response. Moreover, Oda joked about how everyone in the cast will now become huge names in Hollywood before adding, “I will become a friend of these big Hollywood stars! Isn’t that awesome?”

The creator had an adorable request for the cast as he admitted, “Everyone from the cast, please don’t forget about me, ok?”  However, the creator did not make any revelations about the sequel for the series. Rather, Oda shed some light on his plans till the production for the series begin. The creator revealed how he would be in his drawing room working on Volume 107 of the manga.

Despite almost two months since its release, the hype for the series prevails as the live-action series continues to dominate Netflix charts. Meanwhile, an exciting update for the series has already surfaced online.

Netflix’s One Piece has turned out to be one of the biggest outings for the streamer this year. The live-action series has become a huge success and the streamer has already started planning for the sequel. Not long ago, the series even welcomed Jamie Lee Curtis on-board. In the midst of the hype, Netflix also shared an exciting update from the upcoming season, giving the fans a sneak-peek.

This recent update is sufficient to clear all doubts fans had about the series. Even though, Netflix seems to be working towards season 2 in full swing, there is no release date for the same. However, now that the SAG-AFTRA strikers in Hollywood have come to an end, it is safe to assume, the release date will also unveiled very soon.
