Dwayne Johnson Served Brutal Trolling After His Christopher Nolan ‘Oppenheimer’, and ‘Red One’ Story
While art is subjective, and the impact cinematic art has on individuals varies in degrees depending on each set of eyes that view it cementing that beauty lies most definitely in the eyes of the beholder, there still lies a general standard of measurement, as with many things in the world. The standard of greatness in Hollywood is often measured in association with Christopher Nolan or Alfred Hitchcock, and not by rock or more specifically, The Rock, Dwayne Johnson.
In Tinseltown, the standards are kept as high as box office returns, but when the credits roll, the difference between art and entertainment is about as thick as the paper the script was written on. Therefore, when Dwayne Johnson compared his action extravaganza, Red One to Oppenheimer in a recent interview with IMAX, fans united to remind him that despite its rumored futility, sometimes the industry does value meaning over muscle.

While Dwayne Johnson has established himself in the industry as one of the most profitable stars, when at one point he had to fire his management as they said he could not be the next Will Smith, it is no hidden fact that his movies although great crowd pullers, do not stand on the same bandwidth as Nolan.
The comparison coming from the actor threw many off guard and ultimately resulted in a metaphorical bombing of Dwayne Johnson.
Dwayne Johnson's Christopher Nolan comparisons land him a red notice
From Jumanji to Red Notice and Red One, Dwayne Johnson guarantees with his movies, action sequences, cars flying around, a couple of laugh-out-loud moments and, more often than not, a star-studded cast. One would think the wrestler-turned-actor knew what his IP was, but as he finds himself involuntarily in the ring once again, with the Internet throwing punches, left, right, and center, it seems he did not.
Fans pointed out how Red One had a Rotten Tomatoes rating of around 36%, which although greater than Joker: Folie à Deux, is nowhere around the whopping 93% earned by the Oscar award-winning movie Oppenheimer.

It is unclear if Dwayne Johnson, with his Christopher Nolan comparison, was trying to elude that they were on the same level, or was simply trying to make a point about wanting the best, which in this case was IMAX, for your brainchild, but it earned him the crown of being hilarious. Here is to hoping he does not take that as a comparison to him being the next Charlie Chaplin.
