Dramatic Meghan Markle Split Hurts Spotify of $43,000,000 in “Failed Deals”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle knew they were on their own the moment they stepped out of Buckingham. Having gained independence from the Sovereign Grant of the firm, the couple was on the lookout to fund their lifestyles with no compromises in the living standards. The numerous multi-million dollar deals that the couple signed with various media giants and publishing houses served just that. Although some blew up in their face publically leading to a brand deal debacle, it has well served the price of parting ways with the royals. 

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle signed a 20 million dollar deal with the Swedish Giant, Spotify in the year 2020. They strived for a complete list of enticing ideas for the audio giant, they could only come up with a Spotify, Archetypes with Meghan Markle. And although it amassed huge success worldwide, it was not enough for Spotify. The Swedish giant has been at the locus of a crisis for quite a while at this point.

Having suffered a staggering loss, the company also washed its hands off the lucrative deal it signed with the Sussexes. However, although it felt as if the Sussexes will face the wrath of the split, it is actually Spotify itself taking the hit. The CEO has revealed to GB News that the brand has suffered a huge blow leading to a loss of 43 million US Dollars. The reason cited read, the loss was out of the “failed deals” that shook the platform.

Reports further revealed it had taken a hit as a result of “write-offs and contract termination” costs “in connection with rationalizing our podcast content portfolio“. With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle however, the split was quite dramatic. Heated back-and-forths coupled with heavy criticism dawned on the pair.

Earlier this month, sources for authorities claimed that the deal had been discontinued with a joint decision. Nonetheless what followed the controversial split made clear the indifferences from one side. No sooner did the Sussexes end the deal, than they started getting bombarded with criticism. 

Spotify’s podcast executive infamously called the couple a pair of f*cking grifters with no real talents. Bill Simmons even referred to them as an embarrassment to work with. The Sussexes, however, had not replied to this in any way.
