Meghan Markle is once again hit with a rough patch in her career. The Duchess started the year 2024 on the right foot. Not only did she have exciting projects lined up with her $100 million Netflix deal, but she also launched her brand, American Riviera Orchard, marking what was supposed to be her comeback. However, with her second royal-esque tour in Colombia, like a row of falling dominoes, one by one, all her promising ventures were put on ice. To make matters even worse, now her half-sister has jumped in with some harsh criticism.

Meghan Markle got the sharpest barbs from her own family, all because of that one historical decision she made years ago.

Meghan Markle’s relationship with Prince Harry, even in the initial days, was anything but uncontroversial- no matter how much people have eased up to it now. Nonetheless, it seems Markle’s half-sister, Samantha Markle, still holds some disapproval. During a conversation with former GB News host Dan Wootton, the sister said that Markle and Prince Harry’s relationship was “doomed from the beginning,” something that even Prince William had allegedly warned his brother about.

Samantha Markle shared that the Prince of Wales had urged his brother to slow down and not rush headlong into the relationship. “Haste makes waste,” Prince William reportedly told Prince Harry. She added that the Duke of Sussex might now regret turning a deaf ear to his brother’s advice. And she did not stop there, offering her two cents on whether a royal reconciliation is ever possible.

Samantha Markle criticized the Sussexes for their betrayal of the royal family and also weighed in on the couple’s headline-grabbing interviews following their royal exit. 

It was a heartwarming moment when King Charles walked Meghan Markle down the aisle on her grand wedding day. The King even had a special nickname for his younger daughter-in-law. But when the Sussexes decided to step away from royal life, they were branded as traitors to the King and the entire royal family. "How do you feel that love again where the trust has been so trashed?" Samantha Markle asked when discussing the possibility of a reconciliation within the fractured royal family.

Samantha Markle recalled an interview where Prince Harry allegedly confessed he was "never happy" in Great Britain. Just as most people prefer to pin all the blame on women for family breakdowns- conveniently overlooking that men have minds of their own- Samantha Markle also took a swipe at Meghan Markle for betraying the royal family, and her husband allowing it to happen. Given the hurdles Meghan Markle is already facing, her half-sister’s words might either make things worse or have no impact at all, since both sisters have openly admitted to not being close.
