Jada Pinkett Smith, the mother of pop stars, Jaden Smith and Willow Smith, the wife of superstar Will Smith, and more than everything a talent to be reckoned with, will soon be releasing her memoir in some time. With her indomitable presence both on and off the screen, Pinkett Smith’s memoir is anticipated to be a mesmerizing narrative, offering readers a front-row seat to her remarkable journey. Given that the starlet has been a pivotal part of both the music and movie industry, fans were expecting the memoir to be a recap of Tinsel Town’s greatest pinnacles.

The mind behind the highly acclaimed Broadway musical Fela! has earned a reputation for speaking her mind. The triple threat, at 52, decided to release her memoir, one year after she found herself at the lowest points of her life, at least in the spotlight. However, an exclusive abstract released by People of Worthy, Pinkett’s memoir, revealed that the actress has had more than a few low points in her life. She wrote in her memoir, about “bouts of depression and overwhelming hopelessness” that she had been experiencing for two decades.

However, Will Smith, in his memoir, went into extensive detail about his own experiences with mental health and how it did not leave his marriage in a good place. On Jada Pinkett Smith’s 40th birthday in 2011, Will Smith was ready to go all on ‘Big Willie Style’. The Oscar-winning actor had started the preparations for her special birthday three years ago, on the night of her 37th. However, as the festivities began on what Will Smith described in his memoir as the “surprise three-day birthday weekend”, it is safe to say Jada Pinkett Smith was not ‘Gettin Jiggy Wit It’.

While the actress does not go into detail about her fortieth birthday, she does recount her forties being a very difficult time. Will Smith, however, went on to reveal the behind-the-scenes of the party in his memoir and how Jada Pinkett Smith had called his surprise for her a “disgusting display of ego.” As one would imagine, this left their marriage in a very bad place. It will be interesting to see if the Set It Off actress will be reflecting upon it in her highly anticipated memoir.
