Arnold Schwarzenegger might have taken a break from acting for now, but the actor did quite iconic films in his day. Apart from being a fantastic actor, he is well known for being a bodybuilder and weightlifter. But the 75-year-old actor has one more quality that very few people know about. The former Governor of California once gave his input in designing a watch for a prominent watch company.

The brand for which the veteran actor helped design a watch is Swiss luxury watch manufacturer Audemars Piguet. Not only did he help design the watch for the brand, but he also wore it in one of his classics. The delightful part is that the brand has decided to relaunch the same piece inspired by the one Mr. Olympia once wore.

The reason why AP is relaunching this iconic piece is the joyous occasion of the 30th anniversary of the brand’s Offshore segment. It is a large chronograph, measuring 43 mm. According to Supercar Blondie, the most exclusive part of this deal is that AP is making this a limited edition deal by manufacturing only 500 pieces of this Schwarzenegger design.

It was the year 1999 when the 75-year-old was walking toward the end of his career. That year, he did a film called End of Days, also starring Robin Tunney and Gabriel Byrne. It was the story of a detective who had to save a woman whom the Devil wants to impregnate in order to end the world. The film cleared the way for celeb-endorsed watches and further demonstrated AP’s adaptability.

In a way, the watch had a character of its own in the film as the actor had a deadline to meet. AP’s take on bringing it back is a smart move to make people nostalgic while providing them the luxury that is appreciable. The improved wristwatch is a modernized rendition of the previous model and keeps the majority of its original features. Moreover, the company has kept the price secret and will reveal it depending on the request.
