The Hollywood journey of Jennifer Aniston has been nothing but extraordinary. Her career skyrocketed with the iconic sitcom Friends where she played the lovable Rachel Green. But even the brightest stars can flicker and the actress has admitted she considered leaving the acting world behind not so long ago.

Despite her years of experience and dedication to her craft, this one project caused her to hesitate.

Jennifer Aniston was completely gassed from a certain gig

During the SmartLess podcast in 2020, Jennifer Aniston told Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett that the thought of retirement had crossed her mind in the past years. She explained that acting “sucked the life out of me” and she felt it did not interest her anymore. Though the Emmy winner did not reveal which role made her reevaluate her career path, it was an “unprepared project” that she completed before The Morning Show.

Luckily for her fans, she did not back out in the most tumultuous times of her career. Following that, Aniston took on the role of Alex Levy, a highly popular news anchor, in the AppleTV+ show. The series instantly hooked the attention of viewers, and she later took home the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance.

While she is still going strong in the industry, she had ideas of what she could have done if not acting.

The Friends alum would have taken a similar path to Rachel Green 

In August, Jennifer Aniston sat down with the Wall Street Journal to talk about her career and life. When the question about choosing another career popped up, she responded with interior designing. Beyond acting, she would like to dip her toe into the world of home decoration. “I love it. It’s my happy place. It’s really a happy place for me,” she said.

The actress already has experienced what it is like to be in his glamorous industry when she played Rachel Green. The character worked at famous fashion houses, including securing an executive position at Ralph Lauren. While life threw many roadblocks and insecurities at this talented icon, she always came out victorious. Or maybe those moments in her life made her work even harder towards her dreams.
