Arnold Schwarzenegger is an established name in the film industry, with a repertoire of over 40 films. He is not only the quintessential action hero of Hollywood, but is also popular for being the greatest bodybuilder of all time. And as if it was not enough, the star also went on to establish his name in politics and the business realm. With so much success, talent, and power, one can expect him to bag any role he is interested in now. However, his son does not quite measure up in the same way.

Patrick Schwarzenegger’s recent series Gen V premiered last month. However, not many people would know that Patrick Schwarzenegger did not initially audition for the role of Golden Boy, but for a different character.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son wanted to play this extremely competitive role 

Patrick Schwarzenegger played the Supe Golden Boy in the Prime video series Gen V. During a 2022 interview with Variety, the 30-year-old revealed that he auditioned for the role of Homelander in the American superhero television series. However, Anthony Starr eventually bagged the role and became one of the most memorable characters in the world of Supes. Nevertheless, the Moxie actor’s audition did not go to waste, as it brought him to the role of Luke Riordan. 

The star exclusively revealed to Variety that the makers remembered Patrick from his initial audition and offered him the part of Golden Boy. However, they did not hand him any scripts until he got his confirmation to play the part. In the interview, Patrick Schwarzenegger also opened up about his father’s reaction to seeing the debaucherous photos from the sets. Being the strict father as he is, the former bodybuilder reacted by saying, “What the f**k are you filming?”.

While pictures from the shoot would have been jarring for Arnold to digest, he also revealed recently on Jimmy Kimmel Live, about his strictness with his son, Patrick Schwarzenegger. 

Arnold Schwarzenegger is a strict dad like his father 

Arnold Schwarzenegger grew up under the umbrella of a strict Nazi soldier, Gustav Schwarzenegger. Despite having a little hard time with his father, the FUBAR star learned the most valuable life lessons from the late police chief. One of the most important lessons he learned was the importance of being disciplined and self-reliant in life. Schwarzenegger wanted to teach his children the same values, even if it meant occasionally being a tad too strict. 

During his latest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the former Californian Governor revealed the harsh punishments he put his children through to keep them in check. He shared throwing his son, Patrick Schwarzenegger’s mattress out the window into the pool because the Gen V star did not make his bed. The 76-year-old also shared how he taught a lesson to his daughter for not keeping her outdoor shoes in place by burning them.
