The ‘It’ couple of the early 2000s, Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt, gave many onlookers relationship envy back in the day. Their rom-com-like love story unfolded like a beautifully crafted novel complete with red-carpet smooches. But, like a plot twist that nobody saw coming, they called it quits. While fans had grown used to the numerous praises and friendly gestures the former couple often had for each other, this recent $70 Million move by Brad Pitt for Aniston has thrown the ball out of the friendship zone.

According to Mirror UK, a source close to Jennifer Aniston revealed that when the two split up in 2005, the Friends actress regretted “not buying” their family home from Pitt. Now, almost two decades later, the two have reconciled as friends. So, to show his undying appreciation for his ex-wife, Pitt bought back the house that he had initially sold to gift it to her on her 50th birthday. After selling it for $49 million, he reportedly splurged a staggering $79 million to buy it back in 2019. Notably, this was not long after Aniston’s separation from ex-husband Justin Theroux and Pitt’s separation from Angelina Jolie.

When the two tied the knot in 2000, the Troy actor had also invested in a lavish ring for his beloved. However, this expenditure he made for the Murder Mystery actress blows that one out of the park! Apparently, the two had also spoken about the special memories that their home had just months before Pitt made this purchase and turned heads by showing up at Aniston’s birthday bash.

While Brad Pitt may have been on a journey to win the actress back, this may have not changed the fact that Aniston will probably refrain from a relationship.

Earlier this year, a source revealed that Jennifer Aniston was in a rather tricky space when it came to love. Apparently, The Morning Show actress’ two divorces had left her heart wounded. After her divorce from Pitt, she suffered another one when she separated from Justin Theroux after two years of marriage in February 2018. With neither of these relationships ending in a fairy tale ending, the 54-year-old had walked away from relationships with a hardened heart.

Meanwhile, it is also commonly known that she had always held a special place in Brad Pitt’s heart. Especially since his divorce from Angelina Jolie, fans who always shipped him with Aniston got their hopes up once again. This heartfelt gesture from Aniston’s ex-husband of buying back their home definitely raised the hopes of fans who have been looking forward to a reunion between the two.
