If there is one show that has truly ignited interest in the people behind the scenes at restaurants, it has to be The Bear. But beyond the gripping plot and a workplace-to-comedy portrayal that hits close to home, the show is also lauded for its consistent production. The Bear is one of the rare gems in the streaming era that has managed to release new seasons almost exactly one year apart. Yet, despite this impressive record and acclaim, fans are now starting to lose confidence in the psychological comedy-drama.

FX Boss John Landgraf recently told Deadline that The Bear season 4 is scheduled for a summer 2025 release, which is next June. While this announcement should have excited the fanbase- and it has to some degree- they also have concerns, especially following season 3. The third season of the Jeremy Allen White starrer was a letdown for many, mainly due to its aimless direction and poorly developed characters.

Even so, The Bear season 3 holds an 89% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The site also noted that the season remained bold and continued to be engaging and intense with strong performances. Still, the rushed and somewhat incomplete-feeling third season has led fans to question whether the FX show should stick to its one-year release schedule or take more time to develop its characters and plot.

Fans are clearly divided on The Bear and they have taken to X to voice their concerns- particularly stemming from the third season.

The Bear fans are now choosing quality over quantity

Fans are often willing to overlook long, tedious breaks between seasons if the final product is worth the wait. A good example is Netflix’s Stranger Things, which has had lengthy gaps between seasons, and the break between season 4 and season 5 could be the longest one yet. Despite this, fans are ready to welcome the new season with open arms as they know the creators will make up for the delay. And it seems, fans of The Bear too are willing to accept longer intervals between seasons, provided the show avoids the letdown of its third season.

Many fans pointed out that the third season did not feel like a full, satisfying experience from the start.

The Bear recently outshone much of its competition at the Emmys and broke its own record for the most prestigious awards won in a single season. The second season alone took home 11 Emmys on January 16. However, whether the third season will enjoy similar success and recognition is still a matter of debate.
