Despite King Charles’ Snub, Prince Harry Had Princess Diana’s Family Having His Back During the UK Invictus Event
As Prince Harry stepped onto British soil, the one big hope that fans had been nurturing for weeks seemed to be fading into thin air. Not a whisper of a reunion, not even a nod from the royal family to acknowledge the estranged prince's return to the royal land. While nobody was holding their breath for Prince William, given his frosty relationship with the Duke of Sussex and his undivided attention on Kate Middleton, there were hopes that King Charles might break the ice. Nonetheless, despite the royals’ snub, Prince Harry was not alone.
The Duke of Sussex found comfort in the presence of his extended family at the event, which might have helped ease the void left by his own family's absence to some degree.

Although none of the royal family members could accompany Prince Harry due to scheduling conflicts, members of Princess Diana's family, including her brother Charles Spencer, and her sister Lady Jane Fellowes, attended the event. Additionally, Prince Harry's cousins Lara Spencer, Louis Spencer, and George McCorquodale were also seen entering St. Paul's Cathedral. The Californian royal was warmly greeted by his late mother's family members and was captured on camera, sharing affectionate embraces with both of them.
Video clips from the event captured the Duke in animated conversation with them, evidently pleased by their presence. Meanwhile, across London, King Charles held the first Garden Party of the year at Buckingham Palace. Attending alongside were several key working royals, including Queen Camilla, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh. Despite the documented tensions with the Windsors, Prince Harry has maintained a strong bond with his mother's family throughout the years.
His relationship with his father's side of the family, on the other hand, does not seem to be improving following a recent directive from Buckingham Palace.

Following the King's return to public engagements last week, Buckingham Palace has been meticulously handling the monarch's schedule to mitigate any potential risks to his health. While he has resumed some public appearances, Buckingham Palace has made it clear that this is not a complete return to royal duties, and King Charles' battle with cancer persists. Additionally, the palace stated that it would refrain from commenting on anything concerning Prince Harry, as reported by CTV News.
This whole situation looks pretty messy. Back when Prince Harry hurried back to the UK to be with the King after his cancer diagnosis earlier this year, fans thought maybe things were warming up between them. But now, it seems like it is back to square one with the King and his youngest son. It is safe to say that a public reconciliation is not in the cards - not yet, anyway.
