In the most beloved of all 90s sitcoms, Friends, the dynamic between Rachel Green and Monica Geller was one that would go on to define the meaning of ’best friend goals’. From their days of sharing an apartment to navigating the complexities of love and careers together, their bond truly stood the test of time. Meanwhile, something similar was conspiring behind the scenes. After a decade of playing these ladies on-screen, Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox had struck a similar chord with each other. 

The friendship of these two did not allow any man to come between them and only grew stronger with time.

When Jennifer Aniston gushed over her BFF’s qualities

Two years after Jennifer Aniston briefly dated singer, Adam Duritz in 1995, Courteney Cox would also go out with him and appear in one of his music videos. Well, Aniston did not let this get in the way of her bond with her Friends co-star. In an interview with US Weekly from 2014, she called Cox a fair person who was not only “ridiculously loyal” but also “fiercely loving”.

Evidently, the 54-year-old did not take issue with her best friend for dating her ex-lover. Similarly, according to Aniston, the Scream actress rarely ever made anybody feel judged. According to Aniston, unlike her on-screen avatar of Monica who was known to be a tough taskmaster, Cox never scolded somebody regardless of their mistakes. Well, both women clearly placed each other in high regard. 

Aniston and Cox not only praised one another often but also designated important roles to each other. 

How Courteney Cox and Aniston cemented their bond in place

One year after publicly praising her best friend, Aniston decided to give her a special role at her wedding. At the Murder Mystery actress’ wedding in 2015 with Justin Theroux, Cox served as Aniston’s maid of honor. After this, the 59-year-old had asked Aniston to be her daughter, Coco Arquette’s godmother in 2004 too. For Aniston, the answer was obviously a yes!

Later, Cox’s daughter also grew quite fond of her godmother and even designated a special name to her. To honor one with such important positions in each other’s lives just goes to show how deep the love between the Friends co-stars ran. Evidently, so many years of working together on the NBC show had brought them very close together.
