King Charles and his youngest, the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, might have officially parted their ways long ago, but both have failed miserably to keep away from each other at heart. There is no doubt that the King always had a soft corner for his estranged son. In fact, the unseen bond between the two has been the reason both have tried their level best to look after each other’s whereabouts and carry important duties obliged to one another. King Charles made the best possible arrangements to have his son at his coronation. Prince Harry honored his wishes by confirming his presence. 

However, it seems like the delay has been treating the self-exiled prince a bit too harshly. As reported by The Sun, “homesick Harry was desperate to be at the coronation to publicly support his father”. Sources close to the publication even reveal that the duke has made various unsuccessful attempts to contact the King to get things going. Nonetheless, his father, unfortunately, could not spare some time for the desired meetings. 

Being all swamped with the coronation preparation, King Charles has just been available to his son for once. Hence, missing out on British life all this while, the Duke will spend some more time here. Anonymous sources close to the palace have stated, “Harry was desperate to come back for the coronation“. 

Prince Harry and King Charles suffer a dilemma between family and an institution 

The publication had earlier reported that Prince Harry apparently had a heart-to-heart with the King before confirming his attendance. Meghan Markle, as reported, will stay back with the Sussex children back in California. In this situation too, the King is said to be disappointed in Markle. Nonetheless, he does understand the situation since it is his estranged grandson, Prince Archie’s birthday as well. 

In fact, he is happy with his son’s decision, as royal insiders claim. Despite the odds, there is a willingness and wanting to mend on both sides, added the sources further. However, speaking of the Duke, this is not the first time that he has expressed his feelings to reconcile with his family. Regardless, there are times he draws his lines too since he wants “a family, not an institution” as he once confessed in an ITV interview.
