Despite Earlier Speculations, Prince Harry May Have Won the Battle, but He Has Lost the Money

If they had a dollar for every time they did something out of the ordinary, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be among the richest people in the world. The Sussexes marked a new chapter when they made a Megxit from the royal family kerfuffle and they went on to mark another chapter when they went on to expose said family on Oprah Winfrey's show. However, the most interesting chapter has undoubtedly been Prince Harry's legal battle against News Group Newspapers, which recently ended in a win for the Prince.

But can a million-dollar payout and an apology really be considered a win following an extreme invasion of privacy and a six-year legal battle? Especially, if the prince and his wife do not even get the entirety of the payout.

The legal battle against News Group Newspapers consisted of Prince Harry going back and forth from England to the United States. To make matters more difficult, the prince had to bear the cost of his security, leaving quite a hole in his pocket. While one might say that all is well, that ends well however, according to RadarOnline, for the Sussexes, this has ended in them losing most of the $12 million settlement to taxes and legal charges.

As the Prince and his team were able to prove NGN guilty, there was a huge brouhaha surrounding how the Duke had hit two birds with one stone. However, now taking the entire cost into account and just how much money the Sussex would be getting from the payout, the win only seems good philosophically.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle plan to go big in 2025

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can fortunately start 2025 on a fresh plate since most of the deals they had secured over the years are coming to an end for the most part while others had gone up in flames with chants of them being 'gritters'. The Duchess is already setting up her Netflix show, which had to be delayed owing to the wildfires while Prince Harry is keeping busy with Invictus.

It is unclear if the Sussexes are still holding on to dreams about being the next big names in the lifestyle industry, but for now Markle's brand has got no lead. However, the fact that she has returned to Instagram with a holly jolly video and already got hit by a bazooka of followers, the Sussex, albeit not from the lawsuit payout, are sure to make a couple million dollars.
