Instead of selecting a conventional keepsake, she has opted for a controversial souvenir – her title.

As the hopes of her reconnecting with the royal family collect dust, Meghan Markle has raised a lot of eyebrows as she allegedly continues to use her royal title as a trophy.

Meghan Markle accused of cashing in on her jeopardized royal title

Meghan Markle, along with Prince Harry, made the decision to close their tumultuous royal chapter and step down as senior working royal over three years ago. With each year that the Sussexes spent away from the palace, their relationship with the royal family got progressively worse. At one point, the titles of the Sussexes and especially their children were in jeopardy. However, a resurfaced video of Meghan Markle from 2021, introducing herself as the Duchess of Sussex, has led to several claims of the Duchess “bigging herself up,” owing to a video posted on TikTok.

Netizens find it ironic that the Sussexes, despite cutting all ties with the royal family, continue to sell themselves as an extension of the same. Many fans have compared Markle’s introduction “I’m Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex,” to that of Kate Middleton and Prince William, who often introduce themselves with their first names.

While Prince Harry continues to do the same, things look worse for Meghan Markle. The Duchess is receiving heat for still using the royal titles for official use because of her bold statement in her viral interview with Oprah Winfrey interview.

When the Suits actress stated she did not need any royal titles

Following their exit from the royal family, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry gave an interview to Oprah Winfrey. To this day, the contents of the interaction continue to cause heated debates. During the 2021 interview, Markle stated that she was “independent of all that stuff” when discussing the royal family’s decision about whether her son would receive a royal title.

The fact that the former Suits actress, to date, continues to use her royal title, does not really back up her claims of not being attached to the title. She and Prince Harry have also extended this practice of using royal titles for their kids. In contrast to their standing in the royal family, where they have allegedly been labeled as “others,” the Sussexes still consider themselves important royals.
