Despite Claiming Global Praise, Sydney Sweeney to Did Not Receive a Word From Reality Winner for Her HBO Flick on the Whistleblower’s Life
From Euphoria to The White Lotus, Sydney Sweeney has proved herself as a talented actress. With a variety in her performances along with the total involvement in her characters, the young actress has claimed the hearts of many fans and critics. And her recent, Reality, was another testament to her brilliant acting skills. However, the actress will not receive a single word of praise, or anything, for that matter, from Reality Winner for her HBO movie based on Winner’s life.
The American actress starred in the HBO film named Reality. Released on the 29th of May on HBO, Reality received a fair share of praise for the direction and Sweeney’s performance as well. However, the person who is the base of the movie, Reality Winner, will not utter a word about the film. Winner’s lawyer, Alison Grinter, told DailyMail, Winner would not be watching the movie because she did not want to relive the traumatic experience. Rewatching past events is the worst trigger for her. Therefore, she decided to stay away from it.

Surprisingly, this is not the first time Reality Winner refused to revisit the experience. Apparently, there was actually a play by Tina Satter who has also directed the film. Winner did not even watch the play as well. Grinter revealed Reality did not want to keep on triggering those memories. Although she has been free from the prison, she is still under observation. Winner received a sentence of five years and three months in jail and, due to her exemplary behavior, was granted an early release in 2021. However, her release is supervised that will end in 2024.
While the main source of inspiration behind the play and the film refuses to watch them, her lawyer saw both adaptations. She praised the play and the film as well.
What does Alison Grinter think about Sydney Sweeney in the HBO movie, Reality?
The HBO movie is entirely based on the 65-minute FBI interrogation when Reality was 25. She became the first person who was charged under the Espionage Act for leaking a government report to the media. Portraying such a critical character could be extremely challenging. However, the 25-year-old actress impressed Grinter.
