Despite a $1.33 Billion Success, Ryan Reynolds Opt-Outs of Golden Globes Amidst Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni Case Continues
Ryan Reynolds just had the biggest movie of his career with Deadpool & Wolverine. And, as one would expect, the movie is up for the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement Award at the Golden Globes. And as a producer, Reynolds is eligible to win. But it looks like the actor has a lot more on his plate at the moment. He is currently in the middle of a legal battle of his wife with It Ends With Us star Justin Baldoni.
Both Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, have decided to skip the 2025 Golden Globes along with yet another co-star from the 2024 movie.

Deadpool & Wolverine made a massive $1.33 billion worldwide. But it is not just Ryan Reynolds who will not be showing up at the Golden Globes this year—Hugh Jackman will be sitting it out too, according to a report from Deadline. And since Reynolds is not attending, neither will his wife, Blake Lively, who starred in and produced It Ends With Us. Lively had a big year as well, with It Ends With Us grossing $351 million at the box office. But it looks like that very movie is the reason they will not be attending the Globes this time around.
Lively also had a small role in Deadpool & Wolverine. Deadline, however, has reported that the decision for all three stars to skip the Globes was actually made before the legal drama surrounding It Ends With Us started, where Lively sued the movie’s co-star and director. The lawsuit is so intense that even bringing it up could spark a major controversy—and that is also what this year’s Golden Globes host thinks.
Nikki Glaser, who will be hosting the Golden Globes for the first time, recently shared her thoughts on the It Ends With Us controversy and whether she plans to bring it up at all during the ceremony.
Nikki Glaser will not be pulling a Ricky Gervais at the Golden Globes
Nikki Glaser recently made it clear that she is not planning to stir the pot during her hosting gig at the Golden Globes. “I’ve made a point not to, and that’s not to disappoint anyone,” the comedian told Yahoo Entertainment. She also explained she was steering clear of any behind-the-scenes drama when it comes to her jokes.

“I think the Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni thing is such a hot-button thing right now,” Glaser said. She added that even just mentioning the lawsuit could get her into some seriously dicey territory. While it is clear that fans will not be seeing the Deadpool & Wolverine stars at the Golden Globes this year, we will have to wait and see where this legal showdown takes the Hollywood's power couple.
