In a recent interview with io9, Marvel president Kevin Feige compared Deadpool & Wolverine's upcoming MCU impact to the blockbuster releases of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Feige indicated that if Infinity War is rated a nine and Endgame a ten, Deadpool & Wolverine, with its priority status, would be rated an eight in terms of its influence on the Marvel Cinematic Universe's future.

This implies that events from next week’s release might have significant repercussions for Avengers 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars, scheduled for 2026 and 2027. When asked about the characters introduced in Phase 4 and their potential appearances in future Avengers films, Feige acknowledged that while he avoids making absolute statements, the storytelling scope of the Avengers films means that not every character from Phase 4 will necessarily return. Hence, choices will have to be made due to the constraints of narrative focus.

While Avengers might not witness the return of every Phase 4 character, Deadpool & Wolverine recently teased a revelation that undoes previous confessions from this X-Men character.

Marvel Studios’ final trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine has let two of the biggest cats out of the bag. First, it showcases Lady Deadpool in all her splendor, and more notably, it confirms the return of Dafne Keen, who famously portrayed the young mutant X-23 alongside Hugh Jackman in 2017’s Logan. Although Logan was intended to be Jackman's final appearance as Wolverine, he agreed to reprise the role in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Keen had previously denied any involvement in Deadpool & Wolverine while promoting The Acolyte on On Demand Entertainment, expressing disappointment at missing the chance to reunite with Jackman. However, with the release of the final trailer, Entertainment Weekly published an interview with Keen in which she revealed her return as X-23, citing she took inspiration from Andrew Garfield’s tactic of misdirecting the press. This suggests that regardless of how many characters the Avengers films accommodate, Deadpool & Wolverine is here to tap an Avengers-sized success.
