‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Commentary Promises a Deep Dive Into a Fan-Favorite Character’s Introduction and More
Deadpool & Wolverine was a laughter riot. One of the biggest reasons behind its success was the ultimate bromance showdown between the main characters, their funny back-and-forth, and the meta-jokes that probably would have made Walt Disney blush. However, when the movie on screen is this entertaining, one can bet the behind-the-scenes fun is turned up a notch. To show just that, the team of Deadpool & Wolverine is sharing a behind-the-scenes look at how the movie was made, filled with a bunch of exclusive bonus features.
This commentary will also focus on a beloved character, maybe even more than Deadpool for some fans, and break down its introduction.

Deadpool & Wolverine introduced a huge lineup of Deadpool variants. But no contest here- the fan-favorite among them was definitely Dogpool. According to CBR, the commentary special featuring Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy with Collider will discuss how Dogpool’s long tongue was not CGI-created, and that the scene where the variant licked the inside of Deadpool’s mouth during the introduction was anything but spontaneous. Apparently, Reynolds had a little trick to encourage the dog to get a bit carried away with the licking.
Ryan Reynolds rubbed “salmon paste” into his mouth to get Peggy to lick the insides. The 47-year-old joked, “Blake still will not kiss me.” The masterminds behind Deadpool will also talk about the challenges of getting the right costume for Deadpool, which almost led to a costume swap with Nicepool. However, this is not the first time Reynolds has mentioned Peggy’s extraordinarily long tongue and the licking.
Earlier this year, Ryan Reynolds revealed in a social media post that Peggy did a less-than-stellar job as an “Intimacy Coordinator.”

Ryan Reynolds and his on-screen dog variant, Peggy the Pugese, undoubtedly had a great time working together, although the canine may have had a few complaints with the actor. However, it was Peggy’s sticking-out tongue that stole the show in the film, especially during her intimate moments with Deadpool, where she was mostly kissing him. Reynolds poked fun at the same in a post on X.
Reynolds wrote about how Peggy served as the “Intimacy Coordinator” who shoved her “leathery, 32 inch tongue into your throat and down to the bottom of your stomach.” However, this was also part of the reason why Peggy received an “MTV Best Kiss" nomination from Reynolds in another post. With the commentary coming soon, fans will likely gain more insights into this canine variant in the MCU.
