Prince Harry and King Charles’ relationship is in a state of chaos like never before. Megxit, and all the exposing interviews that followed it, cemented the Duke and his wife Meghan Markle as the outsiders of the monarchy. The prince in his tell-all memoir talked about things that further worsened the stain on the former senior royals’ reputation. And it showed when, recently, the Prince traveled to the UK to pay respects to his late grandmother and attend the annual WellChild Awards. 

What became breaking news was him being unable to secure a room at Windsor Castle. Days after the incident, the Prince became the subject of widespread mockery on the internet. 

Prince Harry becoming the target of ridicule

The Duke of Sussex made his first trip to the UK after he lost his residence at Frogmore Cottage, owing to the memoir controversy. Not having a home to call his own, the Duke sought Royal accommodation for a night on 7th September. However, due to the lack of a formal request and demanding schedules, the King refused to make the desired arrangement. Following that, recently, Mark Dolan, the host of Mark Dolan Tonight on GB News, took a jab at the Prince ,calling him “the world’s least happy millionaire”.

The host mocked the Prince for treating “the house like a bloody hotel” and not making time to pay a visit to his own father. Dolan also appreciated the King’s action of refusing accommodation and called it a “slap in the face”. The comedian further said that the Prince will now have to be “on TripAdvisor or Booking.com” to find a hotel room before visiting the UK. He finished the “sorry tale” by reminding his audience that “you reap what you sow”. 

Despite the differences, however, the King reportedly considered a reconciliation with his son. 

King Charles extended an olive branch to the Sussexes

Even after the Sussexes stepped down from their Royal duties, they occasionally spent time with the King and other members of the Royal family. This includes Queen Elizabeth’s funeral, the Jubilee celebrations, and also the occasional personal calls over the Christmas and New Year holidays. This instilled a sense of hope in people who have been waiting to see the Royals resolve their conflicts. Recently, an insider told the Bella Magazine that the King wanted to reconcile with the prodigal Prince.

The source revealed that the Royal family and its staff had been preparing to organize a summit to address the conflicts between the Sussexes and the royals. However, the King had his own conditions for the summit to come together. The king would only like to move forward with the peace talk if the Sussexes assured that there “will be absolutely no private family business discussed in public moving forward”.
