David Corenswet is the newest celebrity to step into the DC Universe with his own version of the classic character, Superman. And there has been a lot of discussion about whether he can successfully take the place of his predecessor in the franchise. However, while the upcoming James Gunn movie is certainly an important project for the actor, his dream role is linked to a different fantasy franchise- Star Wars.

Before his debut as Superman, Corenswet revealed that one Star Wars character he would choose if he could play only one character throughout his acting career.

David Corenswet recently appeared on the Manly Things (Sort Of) Podcast, where he talked about his personal style and what it is like to be a big-time celebrity, along with his upcoming entry into the DCU as Superman. When asked about the kind of character he would jump at the chance to take on in a movie during his lifetime, the actor revealed that his biggest dream role is to play a Jedi in the Star Wars franchise.

Corenswet has been completely taken with the Star Wars franchise since he was a kid and has often shared his deep love for the legendary space opera. Earlier this year, he shared with Netflix how he would try to move objects with his powers as a child and he had half-convinced himself that they actually moved. While Corenswet feels quite natural as a Jedi, the actor had to push himself to the limit for Superman.

One of the reasons fans thought David Corenswet could never replace Henry Cavill was because of his relatively lean physique. During the Manly Things (Sort Of) Podcast, Corenswet shared that he had to bulk up to 230 pounds for Superman. He joked about realizing he had turned into a 2XL when he put on a Champion sweatshirt during a table read. Nonetheless, fans’ opinions seem to have changed a bit.

Corenswet recently attracted a lot of negative attention after a clip of him signing autographs at the premiere of Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story went viral. As a fan claimed he has “zero aura” to play Superman, others soon jumped in to defend the actor. The supporters stated that dismissing Corenswet simply because he does not fit certain superhero stereotypes is unfair. And given the bulk-up, it does not seem that physique would be an issue for David Corenswet in the 2025 movie.
