Amidst the grandeur of Westminster Abbey, King Charles’ coronation finally took place on May 6. It was a moment of great significance, the culmination of 8 months of anticipation and preparation, and the beginning of a new era for the United Kingdom. The new reign became official with his and Queen Camilia’s crowning. All the royals, Prince William, Princess Kate, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco, and King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain, attended this royal affair.

While there are many key highlights from the King’s coronation, the music composition on which he entered the church was one of the key ones.

The honor of composing the King’s March was with Patrick Doyle. He was amongst the 2200 guests who were invited to the ceremony, among others. The 70-year-old composer described that the scenario looked ‘heavenly’ when the King marched on his composition. Prud and happy, he shared how unreal it felt to see the moment happen in front of his eyes. ‘I’ll pinch you and then you can pinch me. Then we know this is real,” he described to PEOPLE

Not only this, Doyle had front seats to witness this moment that looked like a movie. He added that he was proud to be selected by the king for this great honor. The King Charles Coronation March was 4 minutes long and composed by the Coronation Orchestra during the Commonwealth Procession.
