Comedian Hasan Minhaj Spills Beans About ‘It Ends With Us’ Set, Following the Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni Drama

This summer was one of flashy spandexes and florals or at least, that is what Blake Lively insinuated as she promoted It Ends With Us. A success at the theaters with around a $334 Million worldwide collection, the movie took a page from Ryan Reynolds' book to ensure its success as it invited a series of unpredictable cameos. From getting the brains behind the book, Colleen Hoover herself to stand at an otherwise ordinary frame to bringing Hasan Minhaj on board.

The comedian who has caused waves owing to his Netflix original, Patriot Act, not only added flavor through his on-screen presence in the movie but is spicing up things off-screen as well by commenting on the dire nature of the drama that surrounds Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

While Blake Lively marketed It Ends With Us as a fun watch with the girlies, Justin Baldoni framed it to be a moving piece of art to celebrate all those who had ever found themselves in or even near such abuse. However, the movie has ultimately unfolded to be a messy drama between two of the lead actors. When asked about the same by Esquire, Hasan Minhaj stated that everything was "lovely" on the set and he too is confused by the entire ordeal.

Minhaj's take on the entire drama was diplomatic at best as he spoke of his own experience while working on the set. He reiterated that he is no one to speak about other people's experiences as he had been lucky enough to have a good one. It is also likely that Minhaj did not spend enough time on the set to watch the drama unfold owing to the small yet significant role that he was cast in.

Either the former or the bitter taste that the drama revolving around him had left in his mouth, may have taught Hasan Minhaj to use his words wisely, something he fortunately excels at with the exception of a few misses.

While the Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni drama has roped in almost everyone and their moms, not long ago Hasan Minhaj and The New Yorker's expose on him had everyone from politics to comedy, which in today's day and age is not relatively that far apart, picking up their pitchforks. And in more ways than not, the backlash he received was pretty similar to that directed at Blake Lively.

Much like how the alleged confessions about Blake Lively being mean to others on set led to a deep dive into all the interviews she had given in her career highlighting moments of weird tensions, The New Yorker's fact-checking of Hasan Minhaj's claims/jokes led to a severe distrust in the comedian. Fortunately, as the clock ticks, Minhaj has found himself away from dramas, both his and It Ends With Us.
