From a young boy in Cobra Kai to being DC’s first Latin superhero, Xolo Mariduena has come a long way from home. Being his first superhero movie, Blue Beetle has him excited, especially since he once claimed the movie to be touching topics that comic films haven’t before. And while he is set to create a legacy with his new film, he was never an avid reader of comics and it was his mother reading them to him as bedtime stories that sowed the seeds of his career.

Due to this, he knew about Blue Beetle before he took up the role. That and 22 years of self-actualization, as he put it in a People Magazine interview, got him ready for the moment, and when the movie hits the screens in a few hours, fans will know if that worked for DC’s new venture.
