Climate Change Activists Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Are Under Fire for Carbon Footprints Emission
Besides being the power couple of millennials, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry display innate attentiveness to sustainable activism and charity. From time to time, the A-list pair has been present as a stalwart against the deteriorating conditions of the environment and humanity. However, in a disconcerting development, the environmental stewards have surprisingly come under the scrutiny of other climate champions following their reportedly two-hour-long private jet trip.
Despite being eco-warriors themselves, the royal duo has been under observation for allegedly backtracking on commitments.

Doing an about-face on prior commitments has never been in line with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s palate. Yet, in an unsettling occurrence, the Daily Mail reported lately how the pair’s touchdown in the Canadian city came as a result of two back-to-back trips on their Bombardier Challenger 605. The pair were reportedly flying for the three-day promotional tour for the 2025 Invictus Games, resulting in a supposedly estimated emission of 4 tonnes of CO2 as pointed out by Oli London on X (formerly Twitter).
The first flight noted a two-hour long duration from Santa Barbara to Vancouver with a short stay of 39 minutes in between their next flight to Victoria. Security reasons have forever been crucial for the royal figures and hence, private jet trips have been fundamental yet contradictory to their pleas for reducing carbon emissions. As a result, their recent avoidance of flying commercially is now in the teeth of condemnation, both from the royal aficionados and the experts.
While the Montecito twosome has been subject to analysis for retracting from vows, this, unfortunately, is not the first time a report like this has emerged.

Of late, celebrities like Taylor Swift have been amid observation for their alleged indifference to environmental downgrade. However, she is not the only one in the face of backlashes as the royal couple, Markle and the Prince, have imitated similar behavior previously as well. In 2021, the royal author, Penny Junor, allegedly called out the pair for taking a jet trip from New York to California despite their pleas for an eco-friendly approach. That summer, the Duke was also slammed for taking a similar flight to Aspen for a polo match with friends.
Furthermore, it has been reported that in the conclusive stretch of 2023 and the initiating ladder of 2024, the pair have already taken four jet trips to travel around the world. As King Charles and Prince William are still reportedly flying commercial, unlike Prince Harry, the jibes have been twice as much. While it is surprising that the pair have gone back to their supposed pledges, it also raises a concerning eye if these outlandish jet trips have become a pattern of living for the royal rebels.
