Cillian Murphy Presents His Two Cents for the Infamous Method Acting Popularized by Legends Like Al Pacino and Heath Ledger
Every actor has their own methods of getting into their character to justify them fully. Be it theater or movies, method acting has numerous techniques to help an actor own the character as accurately as possible. Legendary actors like Al Pacino, Heath Ledger, and many more popularized the method acting techniques. An iconic star, Cillian Murphy, shared his own take on the same.
The world is, currently, basking in the bliss of two great movies: Barbie and Oppenheimer. While one talks about major social issues like established gender roles, identity crisis, and more; another one is a story of a deadly invention in the history of humans. Both movies have been receiving extremely positive reviews from audiences and the fans specifically liked the execution of the themes in the two films by the actors. And the Peaky Blinders star from Oppenheimer opened up about his views on method acting with GQ.

Getting into a character is one of the most complicated things for an actor. When the interviewer asked about Murphy being a method actor, he revealed the method was like a euphemism. Admitting the actor’s craving to get to the final result, he claimed each actor has their own way of getting into their character.
Despite which method they choose, it would be personal and unique to them, said the Irish actor. He also referred to one of the great Russian theater practitioners, Konstantin Stanislavski. The late character actor developed a method to help actors understand their characters better and embody them step-by-step. Although as time passed, actors started to use these methods according to their own understanding.
Stars like Al Pacino, Heath Ledger, Jared Leto, Hilary Swank, and several others became famous for it.

There are several tricks to embody a character. For instance, recently, Margot Robbie revealed she used a specific fragrance to get into her Barbie character. In the same way, actors use some methods like isolation, changing their routines, living like their characters in real life, and so forth to enter their characters.
When Hilary Swank was preparing for her Boys Don’t Cry, she started living like her character for a month. She cut her hair and lived as a man to understand her transgender character in the movie. Meanwhile, for one of his roles, Al Pacino once asked everyone around him to treat him as a blind man.
