The American film industry has had the touch of cinema’s greatest filmmakers. Notably, our generation’s biggest stalwarts are Christopher Nolan, Martin Scorsese, and Stanley Kubrick in no particular order. Gems like Interstellar and Oppenheimer were given to us by Nolans’ love for complex storytelling. Thrillers like Shutter Island and Wolf of Wall Street showed Scorsese’s love for a “liberal” style of cinema. And Kubrick just enjoyed plain storytelling with underlying dark humor and attention to detail. However, on this one list, Nolan surpassed all these legends to achieve this major spot.

In an update by Christopher Nolan Art & Updates on Twitter, Nolan made it to the top 250 films of IMBd, along with his Italian and American counterparts Scorsese and Kubrick. And it is not really a surprise. The recent blockbuster success of Oppenheimer has indeed pushed him ahead of these two directors.

With eight films in the list of 250, he managed to beat the other two who only have seven. The 53-year-old filmmaker had in works with Oppenheimer’s story come on screen for quite some time. The 8 films in the IMBd list were included – The Dark Knight, Inception, Oppenheimer, Interstellar, The Prestige, Memento, The Dark Knight Rises, and Batman Begins.
